Chapter 2 is the 2nd chapter of the Fire Punch manga series.
Summary[]
In a flashback, as Agni dreams, he has a memory of him, Luna, and their father sitting by a fireplace. Their father explains that a fire needs fuel to survive, and compares the fire to people. He then asks if they're cold, to which they both answer that they're not. Their father is please, and says that both of them are his fuel and asks them "no matter what...never die." Suddenly, he awakens in shackles. The young Agni is confused, before remembering that "this is reality now." He sits next to Luna, who is also shackled, and a pile of chopped arms sits on the floor next to them. Across the room, a group of people begin to panic at the dying fire in front of them, yelling that if they don't fuel it, everyone except Agni and Luna will freeze to death. One of the group members demands the group to "chop wood," and the group unshackles Luna. Luna screams and tries to struggle, but the group holds her down and extends her arm against the floor. As she begs Agni for help, Agni begins to shout, saying they only have to cut off his arm. However, the group doesn't listen, and one of the members swings a butcher knife down onto Luna's arm. However, the knife only makes partial contact, cutting half of Luna's arm and causing her to scream. Both siblings beg the group to stop, but they refuse, finally cutting her arm off fully with the second swing. The man then moves to Agni and chops his arm off too.
Later at night, Luna and Agni are shackled to the walls, alone in the house and facing each other. Luna mentions that Agni had much more cut off, but Agni says it doesn't hurt before becoming furious at their tormentors. He yells that they're crazy for taking over their house and turning their parents into fire fuel. Luna sits in silence, before mentioning that their captors probably don't see them as people anymore. While she admits she knows why they're cutting them over and over, she says that their regeneration doesn't prevent the pain and blames the Ice Witch for the cold, people's lost humanity, and their pain. The two sit sadly for a second, before the door opens and one of the group members enters, carrying the butcher knife. Agni demands to know what he's there for, but the man hits him and tells him to shut up, calling him "firewood." Suddenly, the man turns to face Luna and unzips his pants. The man demands Luna to pleasure him, and Agni yells at the man not to "show that dirty thing to Luna," and threatens to kill him. The man quickly strikes him again, this time with the blunt edge of the knife, before moving back to Luna. Luna resists, but the man begins to hit her repeatedly, demanding her to stay quiet, which begins to enrage Agni even more. The man threatens to kill Agni if she struggles even more, consistently referring to the both of them as "firewood." As the man continues to force himself onto Luna, Agni remembers a question his father asked him: "What fuels you?" While the man forces Luna to perform oral pleasure on him, Agni begins applying all his force to his arms, attempting to free them. He yells in pain as his arms break, but he's successful, freeing his arms from the shackles on the wall. After his arms regenerate, Agni grabs the man's butcher knife off the floor and walks over to the man. As the man attempts to spread her legs and assault her further, Agni tells Luna to close her eyes. The man demands him to shut up again, but Agni immediately brings the hatchet down into his skull. The man falls to the ground dead and Agni looks down at his own hand, implying this as his first kill. His reaction doesn't last long, though, as he quickly leans down and tells Luna that he has to cut off her limbs to free her. He promises it'll be the last time she suffers and brings the knife up, apologizing. He asks himself what fuels him and begins to have visions of Luna, ending with her final word: "Live."
Back in the present, Agni looks down at the burned corpse of his last victim, another Behemdorg soldier. As he stands up around the charred bodies of other soldiers, he remembers an explanation he got from one of the freed prisoners. The prisoner had explained that there is a large bridge guarded by Behemdorg soldiers and that they won't let anyone cross without a bribe. The prisoner refers to them as "ladies with pussy," before continuing to explain that once he crosses the bridge, he'll reach Behemdorg territory and the road will continue to lead to their headquarters. He apologizes for not being able to help his savior more, but Agni replies that he didn't save them. The man questions him, before saying it doesn't matter, and that the prisoners owe him their lives and will be praying for his safe journey. In the present time, Agni continues across the bridge and thinks to himself that he didn't save them, he simply killed a guy he wanted to kill, and continues his quest to kill Doma, the man he's "been wanting to kill."
