Chapter 4 is the 4th chapter of the Fire Punch manga series.
Summary[]
After the gunshots finally wake up Sun, he notices the soldiers around him and ask who they are, before noticing that Agni is on the ground. The soldiers ignore Sun's confusion and wrongly assume that Agni is dead, and ask what they should do while the flames "die down." One of the soldiers says that they should "play" with Sun, and the group attempts to sexually abuse Sun. However, Sun interprets this as them actually wanting to play, and gets mad at them, telling them that it's "no time to play" and it's too cold for them to take his clothes off. One of the soldiers commands the others to hold Sun down, but before they can, he's suddenly burned to death by a very-much alive Agni. Quickly, the remaining soldiers attempt to shoot Agni, only for Agni to tank every hit and attack the soldiers. As he continues his onslaught, he notes mentally that the pain is more bearable, and that with every punch he throws and bullet he receives, the pain feels better. However, after killing all but one soldier, the final soldier puts a pistol up to Sun's head and tells Agni not to move or else he'll shoot Sun. The man theorizes about Sun and Agni's relation while Sun begs Agni to help. Agni, though, denies any relation to Sun, saying the man can kill Sun if he wants since he followed him on his own accord. He also says, however, that if the man wants to kill him, he should kill him. Sun thanks Agni for saving him, but says that he wants to live. He cries and says that if he dies, he wants Agni to live for him. The comment shocks Agni, reminding him of his sister's last moments. The comment also enrages the soldier, who presses the barrel up to Sun's face and begins screaming that he'll kill him. Sun, seeing a moment of distraction, ducks down and zaps the man's gun with full force, causing a massive bolt of electricity to arc up into the air. Annoyed and hurt, but mostly unfazed, the man angrily points the gun at Sun's face again. Before he can pull the trigger, though, a massive avalanche caused by Sun's electricity pummels the three and buries them.
In the aftermath, Agni is fine, as his flames melted all the snow around him. However, as he begins to walk, he remembers Sun's request for Agni to continue living for him. Quickly, Agni begins to call out Sun's name and searches through the snow for him. He punches through the snow, melting it in search of Sun. After a while, he collapses on the ground in exhaustion and defeat. However, as soon as he does, he spots a hand sticking out of the snow next to him.
In a flashback, Sun's older brother provides him with supplies, such as a sleeping bag, potatoes, and sugar, advising Sun to eat it a little at a time. However, Sun mentally admits that he really does know the reason for his banishment. As he gets a vision of a black, splotchy mark on his brother's waving hand, he knows he was sent out of the village because he was the only person not affected by "the plague." He begins to say aloud "that's why...I'll bear everyone's..." Before he can finish, though, he wakes back up next to Agni. Sun begins to call his survival a miracle, but Agni tells him it was just coincidence that he happened to be close to Sun. Sun disagrees, describing Agni as a god once again. Sun recalls that everyone in his village got the same mark on their hand except for him and relives a conversation he overheard between his older brother and the priest. The priest states that, because Sun is immune, he will be banished from the village so he can have a chance of survival. Sun's older brother says that if Sun found out that the village was dying, he would cry, and if he cried, he wouldn't survive. As Sun kept listening to the conversation, he heard about the origins of his name: Sun, the large fiery ball in the sky that brought warmth and light to the world. The priest states that by simply existing, Sun is living up to his name, and that no matter where he goes, he will bring warmth to the world. Determined by these words, Sun decides to keep living so he can "warm up this world," and continues to follow Agni.
